Primary 1 - Friday 23rd January

This week has been a special week as we have been performing our Scots Poetry to the whole class. Every child in Primary 1 did so well when saying their poem and used lots of actions.

We started using our class laptops to play Numeracy games and this has been very exciting! This has given us independence in our own learning.

Great Green: “What went well…”

-In Jolly Phonics, we have been working on the sound ‘ee’ and ‘oo’. We can read new words with the ‘ee’ sound like feet, sleep and sheep. We made lots of coloured paper feet and played musical statues, when the music stopped we had to choose a foot and read the word.

-In Writing, we were trying extra hard to include our full stops in our sentences. We all used a full stop and we are very proud of this.

Think Pink: “Even better if…”

-In Writing, we want to focus on our finger spaces.

-To continue to take turns when using the laptops in Numeracy and Literacy lessons.

Lead Learners:

This weeks lead learners did a great job, Harris and Cody continued to show the class how to take responsibility for their learning when using table activities and the laptops.

Our lead learners next week are Alice and Thomas. This week they have been showing respect and kindness towards others during free play in the classroom. They have been including others and demonstrating good teamwork skills. This has shown their positive relationships in Primary 1. Well done!
