Primary 2 - Friday 23rd January 2026

Our Scots Poetry Competition was a success in Primary 2 this week. Our finalists will recite their poems to Mrs Egan on Wednesday 28th January 2026.

This week, we have enjoyed learning some Scots’ language through games and singing songs such as Heid, Shooders, Knaps and Taes and Auld Lang Syne. Other words we now know are een, neb, mooth, lugs and claes. We have continued to practise our 2, 5 and 10 times tables, understanding the link with counting in 2s, 5s and 10s.

Great Green: “What went well…”

-Creating painted sunsets in Art with Ms Stewart.

-Writing narrative stories about a talking cat and naughty puppy.

Think Pink: “Even better if…”

-Record the time (o’clock and half past) from analogue and digital clocks.

-Remembering to use capital letters, full stops and commas independently.

Lead Learners:

Our lead learners next week are Charlie and Rosie for perseverance. They consistently work hard and try their best in all tasks.
