Primary 2 – Friday 30th January 2026

What a busy week in Primary 2. We celebrated our Burns Poetry winners at assembly, well done to everyone who took part. Our outdoor learning day has changed to a Thursday, please ensure all children have appropriate clothing on this day. This week, we enjoyed some maths outside.

Our sound this week was ‘ue’ and we worked hard to segment our words to read and spell. Some of the words that we remembered are fuel, statue, rescue, barbeque and continue.

Great Green: “What went well…”

-Practising our 10 times table outside using natural resources. The children used sticks and grouped these in tens. We used chalk to write the calculation correctly.

-We have been learning about parts of the body. We discussed our similarities and differences, and what privacy means.

-We demonstrated our knowledge when revising o’clock and half past on analogue and digital clocks.

Think Pink: “Even better if…”

-Work on logging on to Sumdog independently.

-Begin to use rulers independently in the classroom. After the February break we will be focusing on measure in our Maths.

Lead Learners:

Our lead learners next week are Lucy and Lam for consistently displaying all of the school values and showing good manners in the classroom and around the school.
