Primary 2 - Friday 6th March 2026
What a wonderful and special time celebrating World Book Day today. We had so many fantastic adjectives represented. Thank you so much to all of the parents and children for taking part in this school event.
Great Green: “What went well…”
-We have been using Mighty Writer to support our writing this term, where the children create a class story to retell in their jotters. We have been focusing on using adjectives to describe people, places and things (nouns).
-We enjoyed having Keith from RHET Lothian, showing us how to correctly plant and look after potatoes and other vegetables. We had lots of interesting discussion about what we can grow and eat.
-We have also been revising our number bonds to 10 and 20 during number talks this week, which the children have enjoyed playing games in pairs and with random partners. We are focusing on friendly numbers and making / using 10 to get our answer.
Think Pink: “Even better if…”
-We loved learning some French body parts this week, singing Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in French. Primary 2 would like to learn more songs in French!
-We have been working hard to correctly form all our letters, especially focusing on “b” and “d” / “p” and “q” / “i” and “j”. Our focus in literacy has been short vowels, remembering that there is a vowel in every word. Next week we will be looking at “ck”.
Lead Learners:
Our lead learners this week are Harrison and Ellie. They have been kind by helping and caring for others and shown perseverance by always trying their best and never giving up.
