Friday 8th May 2026 - Primary 2
We had an excellent time last week ending with our P2 Assembly. We loved sharing our knowledge on different nocturnal animals. As their teacher, I am incredibly proud of them all for their commitment and dedication to the assembly. It was lovely to hear so many of them say “I loved that!” afterwards.
A super fun week in Primary 2. We have been exploring the different food groups this week, learning lots of new vocabulary such as carbohydrates, protein and dairy. We can sort a selection of foods into these different food groups and we also had a little look at the Eatwell Guide, investigating what makes a balanced meal.
Great Green:
-Sorting a variety of foods into different food groups and creating our own healthy McDonalds drive thru!
-Our first look at instructional writing, remembering how to wash our hands properly.
-Creating their own “snazzy snail” in Art with Mrs Stewart.
Think Pink:
-Continue to understand food as fuel for our bodies, and the importance of drinking water.
-Explore some simple symmetry by folding, cutting and printing.
-Remember to complete our daily zones check-in!
Lead Learners:
Well done to Lucy and Harrison for being our lead learners this week.
Our lead learners next week are for taking responsibility when playing and working with Primary 1. They were showing kindness to others and good teamwork. Well done Alice and Nova!
