P7 Friday 15th May

Yesterday P7 had another visit from DCHS Science department. We were applying the skills we were asked to practise: measuring time, volume, mass and temperature. We had to use these skills when undertaking two experiments.

We were practising explanation writing again this week to write about the water cycle. Half of us used word processing on the laptops to do this. The other half will do this next week.

Developing our work on light and shadow we made articulated shadow puppets in Art.

In Maths we have been experimenting with symmetry. We were looking at and creating shapes with more than one line of symmetry.

This week in outdoor learning we began creating a sensory trail for our P1 Buddies. This was based on an activity we did at Dalguise. Hopefully we can take the P1s out soon to try it out.

We continued to develop our Athletic skills in P.E. and some of us have been selected to take part in a competition in a couple of weeks.

As part of Mental Health Week we watched a couple of videos which gave us some strategies to use when we feel unhappy, stressed or lonely.

Well done to the P7 boys who took part in the inter school football tournament today.
