Primary 2 - Friday 29th May 2026

What a sunny week we’ve had in Primary 2! We have enjoyed planting outside with Ms Stewart and taking part in our Daily Mile. We enjoyed a lovely whole school assembly celebrating many important sports events that have taken place over week.

Great Green: Recently we have enjoyed…

-We have been learning about the life cycle of a butterfly. We can explain how a butterfly lays an egg, becomes a caterpillar and he has to eat lots and lots before turning into a chrysalis. After 10-15 days, a butterfly will emerge!

-We have been continuing to investigate symmetry in our outdoor learning. We have been drawing half shapes using chalk and our partner then has to draw the other half. We also made symmetrical stick bugs, snakes, spiders, butterflies and grasshoppers using stick and other natural materials.

Think Pink: We are working on…

-We will be continuing to look at place value and adding and subtracting 10 using number squares to help us.

-We have had warm and sunny weather this week. We must remember to take care of ourselves and stay safe in the sunshine. Try to wear suncream, a sunhat and sunglasses.

Lead Learners:

Well done to Willow and Alaya for being our lead learners this week. They have done a wonderful job helping around the school and classroom.

Our lead learners next week are Matthew and Rosie. They have had a fantastic week, persevering in writing and numeracy.
