Meldrum Messages - Friday 4th September 2026

We’ve had another busy week here at Meldrum!  We had Family Big Breakfasts for P5, P6/5 and P7 and welcomed lots of family members to the school to hear all about school improvement plans for this year as well as meet class teachers, spend time with children in the classroom and not forgetting the chance to have some breakfast and a chat with other families.  Thank you to everyone who came along to support this event! On Monday, classes took part in a Destination Judo taster session and everyone had a great time.  P4/3 started their block of sessions with NYCoS (National Youth Choir of Scotland) and the children really enjoyed the activities that they took part in.  We held our first house gathering of the year this week too.  P7 delivered their speeches in the house captain elections and pupils voted for the person that they wanted to lead their house this year.  Congratulations to Elle and Alegra; Max and Darcey; Emma and Violet and James and Emily who were all successful and will lead our houses this year.  Also in house gatherings, the children looked at a question from the document “How good is OUR school” and thought about how welcoming our school is and what we could do to make it even better.  There were some really good suggestions and the school leadership team will consider how to take some of these forward. We rounded off the week with our assembly where teachers gave out values certificates to the children who will be lead learners in our classes next week.  Well done to everyone who received a certificate today!
