P6/5 - Friday 6th November 2026

Another great week in P6/5. I have been so impressed with the levels of engagement and the effort put in to work throughout.

Great Green:

• We explored safety around fireworks in relation to Guy Fawkes night, then extended this learning into our Art by creating beautiful firework displays using different techniques with oil pastels.
• Our P5’s attended a handball tournament with other schools in our cluster and told us all about it upon their arrival back to school. They appeared to have had lots of fun at this!
• We have been developing our new Numeracy topic by exploring adding fractions with the same denominator. Some pupils even extended their own learning by questioning and exploring improper fractions and mixed numbers! We are keen to continue this next week.

Think Pink:

• We agreed to stay great next week and place a real focus on how to show respect to school property because almost every day there are pieces of stationery broken, missing or left in a poor state for the next person.

Lead Learner:

Thank you to Amelia and Max for being our Lead Learners this week. I am pleased to share that next week; our Lead Learners will be Lucy and Mollie. Both have been awarded this for continued great responsibility and determination in their work. Well done!
